WRITING PROCESS image
  1. Research:  it goes without saying, a true writer knows that conducting research is the first step in the writing process and given the fact the telemedicine industry is still a new untapped industry in Nigeria, research is a very vital part of my writing. I begin by gathering information about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in telemedicine and healthcare in Nigeria, as well as understanding the needs and pain points of our target audience. Additionally, I still have to make researches so that I am able to identify relevant keywords and phrases related to telemedicine and healthcare that will improve our website's search engine optimization (SEO) and visibility.
  2. Planning: Once the research is completed, the next step I take is to plan the content. I make it my duty to have a content calendar two weeks to the next month and this calendar also helps to narrow down the types of content I want to create (e.g. blog posts, infographics, videos, facts, tips etc.), the topics to cover, and the tone and style of the writing.
  3. Drafting: From my experiences with social media, leaning on to my ability to understand analytics, I have learned that each platform has a different language which the audience prefer to use in communication. This is the knowledge that informs my drafts. I have learned to be educational, humorous, lively, etc. depending on the platform. Additionally, any relevant keywords and phrases identified during my research phase is incorporated naturally into the content to improve its SEO.
  4. Editing: Once the content is drafted, I have to go through a rigorous editing process, my Grammarly is updated and helps me on-the-go. Quillbot is also incorporated to my browser and sometimes, I use Hemmingway Editor to make my writeups readable, accurate, clear, and consistent. All my contents are reviewed to ensure they meet the goals and objectives of the startup. It is also at this stage that I review the content's SEO and make any necessary adjustments to improve its visibility in search engines. I use software like Yoast SEO, SEM rush, to analyze the content and make sure they are ready for publishing.
  5. Publishing: This is the final step where the content goes up on the blog/website and it's also promoted through social media handles and email newsletters. Everyday, I make it my responsibility to track the performance of the content using analytics and make adjustments as needed to improve its impact and effectiveness. Additionally, i endeavour to continue creating new content on a regular basis to keep the website fresh and engaging for visitors.
